Located in Utica's historic Bagg's Square district, Bagg's Square Brewing Company brings a touch of German beer culture to Central New York. Inspired by a 2014 visit to Düsseldorf's Uerige Brewery, founders Jennifer and Jon Earl sought to recreate the communal and timeless atmosphere they experienced abroad. They established the brewery in the historic Doyle Hardware Building, a structure dating back to the late 19th century. Since opening in June 2020, Bagg's Square Brewing Company has offered a diverse selection of craft beers, including traditional German styles like altbier and hefeweizen, as well as sours, IPAs, and seltzers. Complementing the beer is a menu featuring German-inspired dishes such as schnitzel and spaetzle, alongside American favorites like wings and Swedish meatballs. The brewery also hosts events like Baggstoberfest, live music, and trivia nights, fostering a vibrant community hub in Utica.
