We’re excited to share that our President, Sarah Foster Calero, is expecting a baby soon! Sarah will begin her 12-week maternity leave at the end of August, and while she’s away, Pietra Yozzo will step in as Interim President, working alongside our amazing team—Shondel, Marcie, and Liz (Madison is also out on maternity leave!).
Pietra has been diligently preparing for this interim role, meeting frequently with Sarah and the team to ensure a smooth transition. She brings over 16 years of experience across corporate marketing and government sectors. Pietra’s career began in 2008 as an analyst for the New York State Assembly Ways and Means Committee. She then served as the Director of Communications for an association supporting New York State counties. Pietra’s expertise in corporate marketing spans ten years, during which she worked as a Strategic Project Coordinator and later as a Marketing Operations Manager, overseeing a team of four specializing in operations management, data strategy, and compliance. In between her roles in corporate marketing, Pietra also worked for the Oneida County Board of Legislators as a legislative analyst, gaining insight into the county’s legislative and executive functions.
In 2023, she founded a freelance marketing business, Pietra Marketing, LLC, where she supports local businesses with social media management, operations and brand strategy, consulting, and more. In addition, Pietra is an adjunct lecturer at Utica University, where she teaches three marketing courses.
Her certifications in marketing, including the American Bankers Association’s CFMP, and her current and past participation in community organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and the PTA, further demonstrate her commitment to quality.
Pietra holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Siena College and a master’s degree in Political Science from SUNY Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. She is a proud graduate of the Leadership Mohawk Valley program (Class of 2016), a robust leadership development initiative in our region.
Pietra resides in New Hartford, NY, with her husband, their three young children, and their dog, Brooklyn. Our small but mighty team is excited for Sarah’s new bundle of joy, and we look forward to her return. Please join us in wishing her well!
