Oneida County Tourism (OCT) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Gabby Garcy as our new Digital Content Manager, where she will bring her extensive expertise in social media and digital communications to the team. Gabby joins Oneida County Tourism from Visit Rochester, where she has managed content creation, social media strategy, and digital outreach efforts across multiple platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube. At Visit Rochester, Gabby played a pivotal role in positioning Rochester as a premier tourism destination by producing engaging short-form video content, optimizing SEO rankings through web updates, and crafting newsletters that reached over 12,000 subscribers. Her strong understanding of digital trends and ability to create compelling content will help bolster Oneida County Tourism’s online presence and drive visitor engagement.
Interim President of Oneida County Tourism, Pietra Yozzo, stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Gabby to the team. She’s not only an expert in the industry, but she also brings a cheerful eagerness to learn about our area while sharing her valuable experiences with us. Our President, Sarah Foster Calero, (currently on maternity leave) was instrumental in recruiting her to our team. Sarah expressed her excitement about Gabby joining us to help elevate our digital presence.”
Chris Destito, Chair of the OCT Board of Directors, said, “We’re really excited to have Gabby join our team. Her experience with digital content and social media is just what we need to share the great stories of Oneida County with even more people. Gabby has a style of creating content that connects with people, and I’m looking forward to seeing how she helps us reach new audiences and grow our tourism community.
”In addition to her professional experience, Gabby holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication with a Spanish Minor from St. John Fisher College, where she was recognized with the prestigious Barbara F. Wheeler-Schneider Award and the Fisher for Life Alumni Award. She also gained international experience studying abroad in Granada, Spain, and served as a public speaker at several college recruitment events. Gabby will be relocating to the area in the coming months with her fiancé, who has also accepted a position locally, and they are both excited to become part of the Oneida County community.
