Oneida County Tourism Opens Two New Offices

Relocates Welcome Center to Historic Union Station in Utica

Oneida County Tourism (OCT), the official destination marketing organization for Oneida County, NY, is excited to announce its relocation to two brand-new offices, enhancing visitor experience and accessibility. At the end of 2023, OCT bid farewell to the Exit 31 Welcome Center and relocated to the historic Union Station in Utica. Additionally, three staff members have moved into the County Office Building, also in Utica.

Located in the heart of the historic Bagg’s Square District in Utica, Union Station is ideal for a tourism welcome center. Between people riding Amtrak and the Adirondack Railroad, Oneida County Public Market attendees, locals, and more, there is a consistent influx of people visiting this neighborhood. The welcome center is open seven days a week and accessible for visitors arriving by train, car, or foot. To better serve the needs of visitors and the local community, the office has a variety of local and statewide travel guides, brochures, and information to help people plan their Oneida County experience. Staff are available daily to provide assistance and guidance.

The second office is in the County Office Building, strategically located in the same building as several of OCT’s stakeholders. This office is not open to the public.

“Oneida County Government is happy to host our great partner — Oneida County Tourism — in our facilities at Union Station and the County Office Building in Utica,” said Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. “These new strategic office locations will elevate the organization’s presence and enhance its ability to promote this county for the great place it is to live, work and play.”

“We’re thrilled about our move to Union Station, which aligns with the county’s growth and enhances accessibility for visitors and locals seeking information about the area. The location in the bustling Bagg’s Square District, amidst local developments like Tailor and the Cook, Bagg’s Square Brewing, and the Utica University Nexus Center, reinforces our commitment to promoting tourism. And, it’s been great for the rest of our team to have office space in the County Office Building. It’s vital to tourism that we work closely with County Executive Picente and the Board of Legislators, and being here allows us to foster these relationships,” said Sarah Foster Calero, president of Oneida County Tourism.
