From April 3-14, 2024, the city of Utica and Oneida County will play host to the 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championship. The global women’s ice hockey tournament and festival will feature the world’s top 10 hockey nations, competing for gold, with all 29 games being played in the Adirondack Bank Center, including preliminary round games, quarterfinals, semifinals and the medal games.
The U.S. has hosted the IIHF Women’s World Championship just four times previously, most recently in Plymouth, Mich., in 2017. Last year’s tournament took place in Brampton, Ontario, where Team USA captured its first world crown since 2019, topping Canada by a 6-3 count in the gold-medal game.

ET, AHL Utica Comets’ head coach Kevin Dineen will participate in a virtual press conference to highlight his time as head coach of Team Canada’s women’s national hockey team, leading the squad to a fourth consecutive Olympic gold medal in 2014.
